Tax Analyst- Indirect Tax

About the Position:
In this role, the Tax Analyst will be interested in learning the foundations of tax in a professional services environment. The Tax Analyst will report to leadership within Indirect Tax Compliance Practice and will be responsible for supporting clients in various industries.
- Prepare and review various filings of sales and use tax returns for all 50 states, maintaining state and local tax return compliance
- Research statutes to justify company positions with written and verbal responses to inquiries
- Conduct online tax research on state revenue departments and state commerce departments
- Investigate and resolve any discrepancies/notices from states and taxing authorities
- Assist in projects, such as assigning tax rates and taxability
- Assist with research and written communication related to transaction tax treatment of sales and purchases
- Prepare account reconciliations for accrued sales & use tax and GL accounts
- Assist with customer and vendor inquiries related to taxability, sales tax refund assignment forms, tax credit memorandum, sales tax audit requests, etc.
- Assist field personnel with sales and use tax registration requests, qualifications, and maintenance of permits
- Assist with state and local notices, assessments, and inquiries
- Engage in implementing, upgrading, and maintaining tools used to support our client’s processes
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (preferred), Finance or Data Analytics
- Prior internship experience in a professional setting is highly preferred
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel required
- Ability to grasp technology and new concepts required. Experience with Vertex and/or FilePoint is a plus
- Strong organization, time management, verbal, and written communication skills
- This is a hybrid work model position. Candidate must have the ability to work in the Wayne, PA office a minimum of 3 days a week, or as business requires
