Internship Overview:
TERM: May 2025 to August 2025
HOURS: Monday through Friday, 30- 40 hours a week, which may fluctuate based on deadlines and assigned work. This is a hybrid position requiring the ability to work in the Florham Park, NJ office 3 days a week. (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday)
OFFICE LOCATION: Florham Park, NJ
This is a paid hourly internship
Position Summary:
As an Intern with GTM, you will gain valuable experience in, but not limited to, the following areas:
- Gain hands-on experience and on-the-job training in corporate tax through real work engagements in a professional services setting
- Learn directly from experienced associates, seniors, and managers with tenure, experience, and technical knowledge across a variety of industries
- Learn to prepare consolidated and standalone corporate federal and state income tax returns for selected clients
- Demonstrate understanding of tax return filing requirements for foreign operations
- Conduct federal and state tax research and assist with the review memorandums to support tax return filing positions and special projects as required, with the goal of minimizing tax expense
- Learn ASC 740 and how to prepare income tax accrual calculations
- Actively pursuing a bachelor’s or master's degree in accounting or related field
- Able to work full-time for the duration of the internship
- Proficient in the use of MS Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
- Demonstrated skills in the areas of time management, communication, interpersonal skills, relationship building, collaboration, and problem-solving
- Ability to communicate updates and keep members of the Tax Team informed on the status of projects and work
- Detail-oriented individual with a can-do attitude
- Aptitude to pick up and learn new technologies quickly
- Ability to manage multiple projects and report on the progress of work assigned
