Position Overview:
As a Tax Manager, you will serve as a trusted advisor to our clients, leveraging your technical expertise and business acumen to deliver exceptional service. This role combines hands-on contributions with leadership responsibilities, including managing projects, developing talent, and ensuring quality and consistency across engagements.

• Lead multiple client engagements from planning through completion, owning scope, budget, and resources
• Oversee tax projects across various industries, ensuring accuracy and client satisfaction
• Advise on corporate tax matters including compliance, provisions (ASC 740), and strategic planning
• Review complex federal and state tax filings, including consolidated, unitary, and combined returns
• Prepare and review tax estimates, extensions, forecasts, and accruals
• Audit tax work prepared by staff and provide quality oversight
• Conduct tax research and draft technical memoranda to support return positions
• Apply tax rules related to foreign operations and ensure proper filings
• Stay current with tax law and accounting standard changes
• Mentor and develop junior staff and seniors to foster growth and high performance
• Communicate proactively with clients to manage expectations and lead engagements
• Ensure project workflows stay on track and meet key deadlines

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field
• CPA or master’s degree in taxation preferred
• 7+ years’ experience within a corporate tax department, professional services firm, or regional/national public accounting firm
• 7+ years’ experience with income tax provisions and/or preparation of consolidated federal and state tax returns
• Proficiency with automated tax processing systems and online tax research tools such as ONESOURCE, CCH, RIA, and BNA
• Strong advisory and compliance capabilities
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex information
• Strong analytical skills and a high level of attention to detail
• This is a hybrid role based in New York City, requiring the ability to work in-office at least 3 days per week or as needed based on business needs
• Posted salary range: $140,000 to $160,000
